In this stressful day to day life, we do not have any control on our mind journey as we either keep brooding over our past memories or think too much about our future!!
What is meditation according to yoga ?
Meditation is an experience where your mind becomes completely thoughtless (stress free) while you are fully conscious. The body becomes completely relaxed. It is the study of deep concenteration, calmness and tranquility of the mind.
Our traditional teaching process......
STEP 1) Our meditation class starts with ancient traditional 10 steps sequential asanas process which first helps stabilizing your body and mind simultaneously followed by Asanas.
STEP 2)This is followed by pranayama (specific yogic breathing techniques) where you remain silent for some time which results into Pratyahara (a mental preparation to increase the power of mind).
STEP 3) From here, your mind slowly moves into the state of Dharana (a stage where you start building your concentration towards a specific goal).
STEP 4) From Dharana state you slowly start moving into Dhayna (meditation state where your mind starts becoming thoughtless (stress free). You will be in this state for few secs initially, but with regular practice at our classes you will be surprised to see how your mind responds for longer time in thoughtless state (relax state).
Though we have tried to explain the whole process in words, the best way is to experience it through regular practice. Over the period of time, your subconscious mind is programmed to be relaxed and balanced which will help you handle many stressful situations in day to day life efficiently.
